Baborówko’s surroundings

Baborówko lies close to many attractive destinations that are worth visiting. 5 kilometres away lies the town of Szamotuły – with 18-thousand residents, it is also home to a few valuable historical sites. Szamotuły also have a special cultural heritage – the Szamotuły wedding ceremony is written onto the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and a folklore group performs in the town.

Picturesque bike trails have been mapped out around Baborówko. Nearby Pamiątkowskie lake and surrounding meadows and forests are also ideal places for walks, mushroom picking and relaxation. Szamotuły also offer a wide range of sports activities.

Baborówko’s vicinity present attractive and diverse tourist, sports and cultural offers. In Szamotuły one can find a sports center with a stadium, an indoor swimming pool and a hall. The Szamotuły Tennis Club has eight courts with a simple reservation system and offers tennis lessons at various levels. For swimming and water recreation enthustiasts, we recommend nearby Pamiątkowskie lake and Myszkowski lagoon. Bikers can explore picturesque trails close to Baborówko – Szamotuły’s Eastern and Western loops. Szamotuły also present an interesting cultural offer. Szamotuły Cultural Centre includes a 3D cinema and a program of concerts and cultural events for adults and children. We also encourage people to visit Górkow Castle – a museum of over 11 thousand artistic and historical objects, including an amazing collection of icons. The town is also home to a few sights: Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and Saint Stanislaus – the oldest and most valuable one, and one of the most important monuments of sacral architecture in Greater Poland; or a pos-franciscan monastery, built between 1675-1682 on the foundations of Świdwa Szamotulscy family castle.
